So, I was thinking about something and couldn’t go to sleep. And I wanted to share. Facebook is a wealth of info! Some gossip, some funny and lots of inspiring. Mary Kathyrn posted something on her status update tonight…
“you don’t know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have”
Just a few words, but powerful words! And it got me to thinking about my Daddy’s death. (honestly, it’s hard not to think about every day.) God offers me the only peace and strength I have and while I’m sad (every day) about the fact that he’s gone from this earth, I truly know he’s in a better place! The Lord doesn’t always promise bright days ahead. And He allows bad things to happen in order to refine us… our pastor made an analogy. It’s much like the way gold is refined. It’s heated until all the impurities are washed away. Our trials and sadness are the heat and it makes us stronger and hopefully, better Christians.
I’m also reminded of the scripture that Bro. Jon recited just before Daddy died…

I remember posting my new Christmas Card designs last year! And I can’t believe it’s that time again! July is quickly coming to an end and December will be here before we know it! I will have last year’s designs available, but I will also be adding new ones for this season!

When Sarah Nell called me, I couldn’t believe that Sarah Douglas was almost 6 months old! And as I was updating my website galleries and looking through my most recent sessions, I realized that I never blogged any more of my favorites of Sarah Douglas!
We had our first session together when Sarah Douglas was a tiny baby… she can be seen above in my blog header. She was a sweet, sweet baby then and she’s every bit as sweet now! I always tell parents, “keep smiling” and I will act silly/be loud/whatever I need to do to get the baby to smile. Seriously, she smiled in nearly ALL the shots I took! Precious!!
I wanted to share a couple of my favorites…
Fresh. Soft. Beautiful.
I’ve fallen in love with calla lilies! They’re so simple, yet so beautiful! If you know me, you know that I’m always rearranging things… this applies to my furniture AND my website! I based my new design off these gorgeous flowers. I wanted something simple and light… something fresh. I’ve also taken this time to update my galleries… they were SO in need of some updating! Feel free to browse the site and let me know what you think!
Don’t ever feel like your children are being difficult at your session with me! I don’t mind at all… kids will be kids! In fact, I’m tempted to print these images of Savannah and Alex! (ha!)… Sadie was at the sitter’s and I was done with editing for the day and thought I’d grab a few shots of them. (Thanks for the inspiration, Melissa!)
Savannah and Alex complained that the sky was too bright and they couldn’t keep their eyes open…
So, I took them inside for a few shots and they redeemed themselves!
