Goals

Tuesday, July 29th, 2008

I have a couple of goals at each session.  First, I want to capture children.  That could mean the silly faces, the every day expressions, the big grins, the solemn looks… anything that defines your child!  And what’s my next goal?  F.U.N.  I want your children to remember me… I want them to *want* to come and see me again.  I want them to have fun with me!

{Big grin… total sweetness!}

Childhood Discovery

Sunday, July 27th, 2008

I wanted to share a couple of storyboards from a recent session.  Seth is another of my little buddies… I first photographed him when he was about 9 months old.  Though I will admit that he liked me better when we saw each other in the Mexican restaurant in town *without* my camera.  :)   Or maybe he was excited about his food (fabulous food there!)  :)   Either way, he’s a sweetie!

Beautiful eyes!!

I love storyboards!  And it’s probably no secret that I love quotes!  Here is one that I thought fit well with this story from our session together…

"There is a garden in every childhood, an enchanted place where colors are brighter, the air softer, and the morning more fragrant than ever again."  {Elizabeth Lawrence}

I love my job.  (!!!!)

Childhood is all about discovery…

Blessings

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

Count your blessings… just like the song says:

Count your blessings
Name them one by one
Count your blessings
See what God has done
Count your blessings
Name them one by one
Count your many blessings
See what God has done

When upon life’s billows
You are tempest tossed
When you are discouraged
Thinking all is lost
Count your many blessings
Name them one by one
And it will surprise you
What the Lord has done…

Watch Him Grow

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

I feel blessed to grow with my clients.  with my friends.  Brandi first came to me with Madeline when she was about 3 or 4.  And now Madeline has a baby brother!!  I think this was my favorite of baby luke when he was in his Mommy’s tummy…

It’s Happened Again

Sunday, July 20th, 2008

It’s happened again.  This little guy stole my heart!  Brooks was so, SO sweet! He even came to me during our session and rested his little head on my shoulder… SO sweet!  I could have kept him!  :)

These bright blue eyes are precious and that hair {love it!}   …reminds me of Alex when he was a baby!

I had a session with my baby brother a couple of weeks ago when he was home from Ft. Campbell.  Here are a couple of my favorites.

Brand New

Thursday, July 17th, 2008

Ah1 Cohen was just 16 days old at our session… what a doll, he is!  I seriously wanted to call and invite them back after my afternoon session for that day was cancelled.  He’s too, TOO sweet!  :)

Krissy & Jason

Monday, July 14th, 2008

Kwed1 It was their day.  And what a beautiful day it was!!  I enjoyed capturing this day for Krissy & Jason!  I realized a couple of things as I was proofing.  I tend to overshoot… but if you’ve had a session with me, you already know that! ; )   My "just one more" almost always turns into a couple more shots.  ha!  I also realized something else… well, I’m not just noticing this, but it was made more apparent.  I love black & whites!  And my mocha conversion is one of my favorites!!

Thank you, Krissy & Jason, for allowing me to be a part of your special day.  I just wanted to share a few favorites!  But certainly not all of them…  I would overload my blog if I shared them all!  :)

Subtle Differences

Thursday, July 10th, 2008

Well, ok… they may not appear so subtle when viewed side-by-side!  BUT…  the after image is most definitely how I envision myself… all smoothed and "together" (bra strap not showing, camera strap straightened, thinned my face just a tad).  ;)   When I take a shot, especially a close up… the image in my mind is the after shot.  And it’s part of my job to bring that "after" to you!  :)

Thankful

Wednesday, July 9th, 2008

Bc1I probably don’t say it enough, but I’m so very thankful.  I’m thankful for my family and thankful for my job.  I get to meet new people all the time and not only that, but we build relationships.  I love, love watching these precious children grow!  And hopefully this is just the beginning of my journey with Brantley.  He is adorable!!  I shared him earlier in a shot with his Mommy, who is so photogenic!  They definitely make my job easy!  Here are a few more favorites…

A storyboard where Mom was chasing after him.  Brantley loved the limb and leaves hanging down!

Catch Me If You Can…

And a funny… he’s like, "I’m about done with you, Ms Kim!"  ha ha

Love this expression…

And finally, a few other favorites of this sweet little guy…
