My gift to you!
Friday, June 29th, 2007Meet my little friend…
Friday, June 29th, 2007I love my job. Have I mentioned that lately?! {smile} These kids make me absolutely adore what I do… and I adore them! I love watching them grow. I love getting to know them. After all, I’m a stranger when we first meet. But as we explore different areas of the yard, they become my little buddies. Robby became my little buddy. I get so excited when kids warm up to me and actually take my hand or let me carry them from place to place. They trust me. And that makes me feel good. I can’t think of anything out there in this world more special than a little person. Robby is one of my little buddies now and I’d like for you to meet him…
What a difference a year makes!

I had another fun session with Connor & Emma! They are just too cute!! I knew that I had a pose similar to one that we did last year, so I pulled it from my archives. I can’t believe the difference a year makes!! Connor didn’t feel the need to stand on Emma’s hand and Emma says,
"Look Mommy, no feet!"
I love seeing how much these little ones change. And I’m so thankful to the Mommies out there who have trusted your littles ones and their portraits to me!
They’ve grown so much, but they’re just as precious as ever! Here is a favorite shot of Connor… isn’t he just a beautiful little man?!
And Emma is just precious… she has such a fabulous personality that shines through!
Baby Lily & her big sis, Hannah…

The relationship between siblings is such a special one. I saw it when Alex was born and Savannah wanted to hold him and take care of him ALL them time! I see it now when I photograph clients with their siblings. Hannah adores her baby sister, Lily! And there is nothing sweeter than a newborn! Lily was 9 days old when her Mommy allowed me to spend a couple of hours with her. And here are some of my favorites from the session…

I know that we hear that all the time. But really, don’t you see how true it is. Anyone who has children, knows how quickly the time passes. This last week was a crazy one! Between scheduled sessions, proofing and ordering sessions… I had a birthday (the big 3-0) and Savannah’s birthday is today! My baby girl is 8… wow!
I posted a picture of Presley with a promise of more to come. I’m just now getting to those (sorry, Kimberly!) I had such a good time with Presley… a very fun session and she is such a sweetheart! You can see more of her here!
If you are interested in capturing these quickly passing moments, give me a call and schedule your playdate today!
A blue eyed beauty…

Who could ever resist this face?! I know that I couldn’t! And Presley was such a sweetie too! She gave me the biggest hug when we were done! I’ll list that as one of my ordinary miracles for today… nothing like the innocence of a child…
More of Presley to come in the next day or two…
It’s all in the eyes…

"I have looked into your eyes with my eyes. I have put my heart near your heart." ~Pope John XXIII
Sometimes the greatest images are not the smiley ones where the smile never really reaches the eyes.
Sometimes the best image is one in which you can see into the soul. After all, we’ve always heard that the eyes are windows to the soul.
I wanted to share a few of my favorite images with you… Two of them are of my own children. They are my all time favorites of them. I have them printed as 16x20s and hanging in my living room. The images that I’ve chosen as my favorites are ones that I can’t seem to stop looking at… I can almost look right into the photo… see right into the child. After your session with me, I would urge you to look at your proofs and don’t always look for the biggest smiles, but search out the biggest souls… The images that draw you in and make you never want to put them down.
I have people ask me all the time how close ups look printed large… I LOVE them! They’re bigger than life and they really make a statement! I’m one of the people who believes in decorating your home with images… images of your own children… of your own life.
life as Art.
